H.M. Konungens tal vid middagen hos Yucatáns guvernör
Mérida, Mexiko
(Det talade ordet gäller)
Governor of Yucatán, Mr. Vila Dosal
Ms. Ortiz Abraham,
Ministers,
Excellencies,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Her Majesty the Queen and I would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the Governor of Yucatán and Ms. Ortiz Abraham for the gracious invitation to this wonderful dinner.
To conclude our state visit in Merida, has been truly enriching. With great interest, we have explored some of Mexico's most significant cultural treasures. Merida is renowned for its colonial architecture, rich gastronomic tradition, and historical heritage, all of which we have had the pleasure of experiencing during this last day of our stay in Mexico.
It has been very interesting to learn more about the dynamic state of Yucatán and your vison for the future, building on increased trade and tourism.
Furthermore, the visit to the Uxmal Archeological Zone was truly captivating. We explored the ruins of a Maya city, including magnificent pyramids and palaces, remarkably well-preserved. No wonder Uxmal has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site!
Our meeting today with representatives of the Maya and Yaqui peoples was also very special to both her Majesty the Queen and me.
With these words, we would like to extend our profound gratitude for an unforgettable experience and for the tremendous effort you have put into preparing our visit.
Finally, her Majesty the Queen and I would like to express our appreciation for the delightful dinner filled with engaging conversations.
Thank you.
