H.K.H. Kronprinsessans tal vid Atlas Copcos 150-årsfirande
Stockholm
(Det talade ordet gäller)
Ladies and gentlemen,
I am truly delighted by the opportunity to be here with you today, at the celebration of your 150 year anniversary.
In 1874, one year after the company was founded as Atlas, my paternal great great great grandfather, King Oskar II inaugurated the factory facilities in Stockholm.
Since then, our paths have crossed quite a few times. Members of my family, as well as I, have visited Atlas Copco both in Sweden and abroad.
You have grown from a small local company to a global one – driving development and delivering breakthrough innovations to customers in many different industries. Your roots are Swedish, but now you have employees all over the world.
Today, Sweden is a prosperous country. But it has not always been that way. Over the centuries, entrepreneurship and trade took us from poverty to prosperity. Sweden is now an export-oriented economy and a frontrunner in the global green transition.
In a rapidly changing world, Swedish businesses face challenges – How can you stay competitive in the world of today, and tomorrow?
At Atlas Copco, your core values – commitment, innovation and interaction – are key to staying ahead. I believe it is critical for the future that you keep championing these values.
You have also realized the importance to invest in research and development to continue to be in the forefront. And sustainability is a main driver in developing new products and solutions.
The business community in Sweden has taken on a leading role in the green transition. You are certainly part of this development.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I would like to congratulate you on the anniversary and wish you the best of luck in the future.
Let me also wish you a successful conference and fruitful discussions.
Thank you.
