The King and Queen and The Crown Princess Couple attend the 2021 Nobel Prize ceremony
On Friday 10 December, The King, The Queen, The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel attended an adapted Nobel Prize ceremony.
This year's Nobel Laureates were honoured with a ceremony in the Blue Hall at Stockholm City Hall. The Nobel Foundation and members of the Nobel Prize-awarding institutions gave speeches, interwoven with recordings of the prize presentations which took place in the Laureates' home countries.
This year's Nobel Prize medals and diploma had been presented to the Nobel Laureates during special ceremonies in Germany, Great Britain, the USA and Italy.

Music during the ceremony
The music during the ceremony was performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Cathrine Winnes.
There were also performance by Anne Sofie von Otter, Bengan Janson, Kiralina Salandy and Karin Hammar. The music was composed by Mozart, Léo Ferré, Elfrida Andrée, Richard Galliano and Joni Mitchell, among others.
Nobel Day
10 December was the date of Alfred Nobel's death. The day is also a national flag day in Sweden. In his memory, 10 December is the day on which the Nobel Laureates receive their prizes.
The first Nobel Prizes were awarded in 1901.
