The King: 40 years as Sweden's Head of State

The King's 40th jubilee will be celebrated during the weekend of 13–15 September, and on Thursday 19 September. The jubilee weekend will be commemorated by the Government, the Riksdag and the City of Stockholm. The Royal Family will attend all programme events.

Friday 13 September

The exhibition 40 years on the throne — 40 years serving Sweden will be opened in the Hall of State.

Saturday 14 September

The Government will hold a dinner at Nordiska Museet in Stockholm.

The Riksdag will hold a jubilee concert at Stockholm Concert Hall.

Sunday 15 September

A Te Deum thanksgiving service will be held in the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.

The City of Stockholm invites the people of Stockholm and visitors to Dancing at the Palace

  • 12:00 The festivities begin on Norrbro.
  • 15:00 A toast to H.M. The King, after which the Inner Courtyard will be opened to everyone who wants to dance. All are welcome, and entry is free.
