The Celebrations 25–30 April

The King's birthday was celebrated with a number of events from Monday 25 to Saturday 30 April.

Monday 25 April

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society of Naval Sciences, the Royal Dramatic Theatre, the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences and the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture & Forestry arranged An Evening about the Baltic Sea – hopefulness and threats.

The Armed Forces Music Corps performed a birthday concert in the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace.

Authorities and organisations had the opportunity to congratulate The King at a reception.

Authorities and organisations had the opportunity to congratulate The King at a reception at the Royal Palace.

The royal artistic academies congratulated The King.

The Royal Swedish Opera and Stockholm Concert Hall performed a concert at the Nordic Museum on the occasion of the celebration of the King’s 70th birthday.

Saturday 30 April

Te Deum thanksgiving service was held in connection with The King's 70th birthday celebrations.

The Swedish Armed Forces congratulated The King with a musical programme and changing of the guard.

Choral tribute.

After the choral tribute, The King and Queen made their way by horse and carriage to Stockholm City Hall, where the City of Stockholm hosted lunch.

The Riksdag, the Government and the county governors congratulated The King at a reception at the Royal Palace.

Banquet was held for invited guests.
