On Sunday 2 March, a Te Deum thanksgiving service was held in the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace of Stockholm in connection with the birth of H.R.H. Princess Leonore. The King and Queen, The Crown Princess Couple and Prince Carl Philip attended the service, together with representatives of official Sweden and the staff of the Royal Court.

On the occasion of a royal birth, a thanksgiving service – the Te Deum – is held. The Te Deum is an ancient church ceremony, which in a royal context takes place in connection with important events at the Royal Court: christenings, birthdays, jubilees and other ceremonial occasions. The most recent Te Deum was held in connection with The King's 40th jubilee on 15 September 2013.
