The Swedish National Pastry Team, part of the Swedish Association of Bakers and Confectioners, has been appointed to make the wedding cake for Prince Carl Philip and Miss Sofia Hellqvist's wedding banquet on 13 June at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. The wedding cake will be created by Mattias Ljungberg, Frida Leijon and Fredrik Borgskog.
The Swedish National Pastry Team is part of the Swedish Association of Bakers and Confectioners, and is one of the world's top pastry teams. The team took seventh place at the last Pastry World Cup.
Mattias Ljungberg, Tössebageriet, Stockholm
Mattias is one of Sweden's most creative and artistic confectioners, and specialises in sculpture. He won the 2006 Swedish Pastry Chef of the Year competition. As a member of the Swedish Culinary Team, Mattias also won gold at the Culinary Olympics in both 2004 and 2012 with responsibility for sculptural creations.
Frida Leijon, Güntherska Hovkonditori & Schweizeri, Uppsala
Frida has competed in several national and international pastry chef competitions for juniors. Silver medal in Sweden in 2008, and team silver at the 2009 European Pastry Cup for Juniors and a 4th place individually. 12th place at the 2010 Junior Pastry World Cup. Bronze medal with the Swedish National Pastry Team at the 2014 European Cup.
Fredrik Borgskog, Clarion Post, Gothenburg
Fredrik has competed with the Swedish Culinary Team, winning a silver medal at the 2006 Culinary World Cup and a bronze medal at the 2008 Culinary Olympics. Bronze medal with the Swedish National Pastry Team at the 2014 European Cup and gold medal at the 2014 Nordic Pastry Cup.
