On 8-9 September, the World Childhood Foundation's 15th anniversary was celebrated in Stockholm.
On Monday 8 September, the World Childhood Foundation's third International Council meeting was held. The International Council was formed in 2013 with the aim of discussing issues that are common to all four sister foundations in Sweden, Brazil, the USA and Germany. The council consists of Queen Silvia, Princess Madeleine, the World Childhood Foundation's Secretary General, the chairmen of the boards of each foundation and another board member from each foundation.
On the evening of 8 September, the World Childhood Foundation held a dinner at Berns in Stockholm to commemorate the foundation's 15th anniversary. The evening also aimed to raise money for the work of the foundation. The dinner was attended by the foundations founders Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine. Other guests included The Crown Princess Couple, Mr Christopher O'Neill and the World Childhood Foundation's board members, co-founders and business partners.
On Tuesday 9 September, the World Childhood Foundation's annual meeting took place. The Queen welcomed all those present to the working meeting at the Royal Palace of Stockholm, and thanked everyone for their work with the World Childhood Foundation. The individual foundations then presented their work and their activities for the past year, and their plans for the coming year.
Princess Madeleine presented Childhood's ThankYou campaign, which aims to spread information about the foundation's work.
During her presentation, Princess Madeleine said: "I hope many of you will go to www.thankyou.org and give a song to someone who meant a lot to them during their childhood, in order to support Childhood's work."
On Tuesday evening, The King and Queen hosted a dinner at the Royal Palace of Stockholm, to which Childhood's board members were invited.
