The King's birthday celebrations at the Royal Palace of Stockholm

On Saturday 30 April, The King's birthday will be celebrated in the customary manner in the Outer Courtyard at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.

The celebrations will begin at 08:00 with 43 Swedish flags being raised on Skeppsbron, where a music corps from the Life Guards will play.

In connection with the Te Deum thanksgiving service, which will take place at 10:00 in the Royal Chapel, the Grenadier Guards from the Life Guards will parade at the South Gate.


The Swedish Navy's Music Corps will march in and perform a musical programme


The King will exit from the West Gate and approach and receive the Main Guard. The Armed Forces Music Corps will play a parade march, after which The King will go up into the Main Guard Wing for the Commandant-General's reception of the Commandant Staff.

A twenty-one gun salute will be fired from Skeppsholmen


The King will come out onto Lejonbacken Terrace


There will be a place for the public on Norrbro


Choral tribute


Cortège from Mynttorget, via Vasabron and Tegelbacken, to Stockholm City Hall for lunch.


Scouts will parade along Lejonbacken and on Stadshusbron.


The Swedish Armed Forces will parade along the route of the cortège and with music corps on Vasabron, at Centralpalatset and at Stockholm City Hall.
