The Swedish Royal Family has a long tradition of getting involved in and supporting activities for children and young people.
Crown Princess Victoria and Mr Daniel Westling have established a foundation to mark the occasion of their marriage. The Foundation needs its own capital in order to be registered. Crown Princess Victoria and Mr Daniel Westling have therefore donated SEK 100,000 to the Foundation, which will constitute its original capital.
The Crown Princess Couple would like their Wedding Foundation to support children and young people in Sweden, with the purpose of combating exclusion and promoting good health.
The choice of focus for the foundation has been determined by the Crown Princess Couple's commitment to issues relating to exclusion experienced by children and young people, and young people's health in Sweden.
The Foundation will be able to provide grants to other organisations that work with these issues, but may also run projects of its own within this field.
The Crown Princess Couple hope that those people and organisations who wish to send them a wedding gift will consider doing so by making a donation to the Foundation.
Contributions to the Crown Princess Couple's Wedding Foundation can be deposited into bank giro account 470-5463.
The contact for the Foundation is board member Jan Lindman, tel. +46 (0)8 4026000.
The Foundation has been established and the board will send an application for registration of the Foundation to the County Administrative Board shortly. The Foundation's chairman is the Marshal of the Realm. Other board members include Chief Military Staff of H.M. The King Major General Håkan Pettersson and director Jan Lindman. The Crown Princess Couple will be appointing additional board members for the Foundation soon.
