Queen Silvia visits Rome and takes part in an anti-trafficking seminar

On Monday 27 April, Queen Silvia will visit the Vatican City together with Princess Madeleine and her family. The Queen and Princess Madeleine will take part in the anti-trafficking seminar Trafficking with a Special Focus on Children, which will be held at the Vatican City.

At 10:00, Pope Francis will hold an audience to receive The Queen, Princess Madeleine, Christopher O'Neill and Princess Leonore.

In the afternoon, Queen Silvia will open the seminar Trafficking with a Special Focus on Children. The seminar will be held at the premises of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, Casina Pio IV.

The other Swedish participants in the seminar will be:

  • Minister for Children, the Elderly and Gender Equality Åsa Regnér
  • Chancellor of Justice Anna Skarhed 
  • Professor Martin Ingvar, Karolinska Institutet

The following will participate from the Vatican:

  • Professor Margaret Archer, President of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences
  • Sister Eugenia Bonetti, President of the organisation Slaves No More, Consolata Missionary Sister 
  • Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See

Accreditation

The Vatican will permit a maximum of six media representatives at the audience, of which a maximum of three may be photographers.

Those media representatives who cannot be given the opportunity to attend the audience can be present in the San Damaso courtyard when The Queen and the Princess family arrive for the audience and on their departure.
