On Tuesday, August 15, H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria attended the official inauguration of the Royal Palace's new concert piano from Steinway and Sons.
Mats Liljefors, creative director for The Royal Palace Music Festival, welcomed the audience to the concert, after which he handed over to concert pianist, Per Tengstrand.
Tengstrand performed several pieces, including works by Esa-Pekka Salonen, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms. Per Tengstrand also performed two encore numbers, bringing the concert to an end with one of Frédéric Chopin's nocturnes.
The Royal Palace Music Festival continues through September 23. The next concert will be held in the Hall of State on Friday, August 17 at 19:30, with a performance by guitarist Erik Borelius and the Perfect Partners.
