On Tuesday 23 March, The King gave a speech during the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Sweden's digital annual meeting.

The ICC works to facilitate international business, and has six million members from companies and industries in more than a hundred different countries. The King is the highest patron of ICC Sweden.

This year's annual meeting was held digitally, and included a seminar on the world trade situation and how it has been affected by increased tensions and trade conflicts in recent years.

In his speech during the annual meeting, The King said:

"The past year has been overwhelming. Just like society as a whole, industry has faced tough challenges.

"Despite this, Swedish businesses have demonstrated outstanding adaptability and inventiveness, as well as an impressive desire to help fight the pandemic. We have every reason to be proud of this!"
