On Saturday 23 October, HM The King visited Falun to re-establish the Dalarna Regiment, I 13.

The Dalarna Regiment was disbanded in 2000, but the Riksdag decided last year that the regiment should be re-established.

During the ceremony, which was also attended by the Supreme Commander and the Minister for Defence, The King said:

"I am firmly convinced that the Dalarna Regiment will contribute towards the continued positive development of Falun and Dalarna, and would like to convey my warmest wishes for success to all those of you who will now organise and establish the regiment.

"I hereby declare Dalarna Regiment I 13 re-established! Return the Dalarna Regiment's banner."

The ceremony took place in the Dala Hall in Falun at the former military area.
