On Tuesday 20 April, The King attended the Bioeconomy Forum – held during Forest Industry Week – digitally. During the prize-giving ceremony, The King gave a speech.

The Bioeconomy Forum is arranged by the Swedish Forest Industries Federation, and was part of Forest Industry Week 2021. The focus for the day's forum was sustainable consumption and sustainable forestry.

During the prize-giving ceremony, The King gave a speech in which he said:

"Just as much as the forest is part of our history, it is also absolutely central to our future. It is not only pines and spruces that grow there, together with thousands of other species. Knowledge grows there, too!

"Sweden's forest and the forest industry are a platform for research and development.

"An environment where new ideas and innovations are born. And where politics, research and industry work together."

Prizes were then awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to developments within forestry.
