On Saturday 31 October, All Saints' Day, The King and Queen attended the Church of Sweden's national memorial ceremony for the pandemic at Uppsala Cathedral.

The ceremony brought together The King and Queen and a small group of specially invited attendees.

The ceremony was based around Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, with the music being interwoven with lighting candles and readings. Representatives from Sweden's Interreligious Council also read prayers and readings from different religious traditions. The archbishop and the Speaker of the Riksdag gave speeches during the ceremony.

In the cathedral, music was performed by Uppsala Cathedral Singers together with musicians from the Västerås Sinfonietta and Uppsala Chamber Orchestra.

The ceremony was broadcast live on TV4.
