On Sunday 22 September, The King and Queen visited Uppsala Cathedral where a new bishop was consecrated for the Diocese of Stockholm.
Diocesan Curate Andreas Holmberg was consecrated as a new bishop in the Diocese of Stockholm.
The consecration service was led by the Archbishop in the presence of the Church of Sweden's other bishops and foreign guests.
The Diocese of Stockholm was formed in 1942, and is the youngest of the Church of Sweden's thirteen dioceses. The diocese stretches from Össeby in the north to Botkyrka in the south, and from Djurö-Möja-Nämdö in the east to Adelsö-Munsö in the west.
