To commemorate and congratulate Sweden's students, The Crown Princess has written to all the country's graduating upper secondary students.

A letter from The Crown Princess has been sent to Sweden's just over 1,300 upper secondary schools. You can read the full letter here (in Swedish) and print it out in PDF format.

To those completing their upper secondary studies this spring,

On behalf of the whole of the Royal Family, I send my warm congratulation to those who have now completed their school exams.

Spring has been quite different this year. Your last term at upper secondary school was not exactly what you, your family and your friends expected. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all, and will probably continue to do so for some time.

Despite these circumstances, you have now passed an important milestone in your lives.

"Sing of the student's happy day, let us rejoice in the spring of youth! Our hearts beat strong and healthy, and the bright future is ours."

These are the words of the Student Song, which was written by my great-great-grandfather's uncle Prince Gustav, and which has been sung for more than 150 years by young people as they begin their adult lives.

I hope you can hold on to these lines, and see the bright future that lies ahead of you. You will now take everything you have learnt during your school years with you in your lives, and this forms the foundation of your future.

I would like to wish you good luck and every success for a bright future – a future that is yours!

VICTORIA
