On Thursday 12 March, the Swedish Armed Forces congratulated The Crown Princess on her name day.

In the interests of the safety of the public – who usually gather for these celebrations in a restricted space, with a certain degree of crowding – and based on the Public Health Agency of Sweden's risk assessment regarding the new coronavirus, the traditional ceremony was cancelled.

However, The Crown Princess received flowers and congratulations from the Swedish Armed Forces during a smaller ceremony at the East Gate of the Royal Palace.
