On Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June, The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel carried out four visits in the Stockholm area relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim was to highlight businesses and organisations that have adapted their focus in connection with the pandemic, and to show their appreciation for the healthcare services.

Visit to Svensk Emballageteknik AB

On the Wednesday morning, The Crown Princess Couple visited the packaging company Svensk Emballageteknik AB in Järfälla.

When the COVID-19 pandemic reached Sweden, the company reorganised part of its production operations in order to manufacture long-sleeved protective clothing, protective visors and foam plastic edging strips for other visor manufacturers. During the spring, the company has delivered large quantities of protective clothing to municipalities and regions around Sweden.

Visit to Fryshuset

Many summer jobs have been cancelled this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Crown Princess Couple therefore visited Fryshuset in Stockholm on the Thursday, where the 'Boost for Preparedness: Summer' initiative is being carried out.

This initiative will provide summer employment for 1,000 young people, who will gain useful knowledge and contacts, as well as an insight into industry. It is being carried out in partnership between Fryshuset and Novare, and has been commissioned by the City of Stockholm.

The work is taking place at Fryshuset's premises in Hammarby Sjöstad, Husby and Skärholmen, in three stages between June and August.
