On Tuesday 8 June, The Crown Princess sent a greeting to the "We All Make a Difference!" digital conference.

During 2021 Finland has presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, which arranged "We All Make a Difference! A Virtual Conference on Education, Culture and Youth as Drivers for Sustainable Development" in partnership with Finland's Ministry of Education and Culture on 8–9 June.

In her greeting, The Crown Princess said:

"Under more normal circumstances, I usually have the privilege of travelling quite a lot – both within Sweden and the Nordic region, and to other countries. During these trips, I frequently meet young people who tell me about their lives and their views of the future. These conversations are often etched in my memory.

"People sometimes say that young people take a short-term approach. But in my experience, the very opposite is true: When you make the effort and really listen, it is often the youngest people who have the most long-term perspectives – and solutions."

Finland's main focus during its presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers is to promote the Nordic vision: The Nordic region will become the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. The three strategic priorities behind this vision are a green Nordic region, a competitive Nordic region and a socially sustainable Nordic region.

The aim of the conference was to strengthen the synergies between the education, research, culture and youth sectors, and to investigate how these different sectors contribute towards sustainable development.
