On Thursday 2 May, The Crown Princess visited Athens in Greece to attend a seminar on sustainable development.
As an advocate for the UN's global sustainable development goals, The Crown Princess is strongly committed to sustainable development. President of Greece Prokopios Pavlopoulos gave an opening address, which was followed by discussions on how countries can achieve economic development while also dealing with climate change risks.
The seminar was arranged by Stockholm University, the Academy of Athens and Greek company Temes. They have been working together for ten years, sharing knowledge at the Navarino Environmental Observatory in the Kalamata region of Greece. There, researchers and students investigate air, water and land changes in the sensitive climate of the Mediterranean.
During the morning, The Crown Princess visited the Agora to find out how water supply worked in ancient Greece.
