On Thursday 16 April, Princess Sofia began volunteering at Sophiahemmet to assist the care staff working there.
During the previous week, Princess Sofia had carried out basic healthcare training in order to be able to help care staff at Sophiahemmet. The Princess has been posted on a ward at the hospital, helping with simple care duties, cleaning and similar tasks.
Princess Sofia carried out intensive training as part of the Boost for Preparedness, together with staff who had been laid off by the airline SAS, who are now assisting at workplaces experiencing great demand as a result of the current pandemic.
The Princess is Honorary Chair of Sophiahemmet.
The Boost for Preparedness is a cooperation project between Sophiahemmet University College and the company Novare, and is being funded by the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation.
