On Tuesday 22 December, The King, The Queen, The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel held a digital meeting with Minister Lena Hallengren.

During the meeting, Minister for Health and Social Affairs Lena Hallengren spoke about the current COVID-19 pandemic situation in Sweden and Europe.

She also described the Government's work with various agencies to ensure that Sweden is well prepared to deal with vaccinations, recommendations and restrictions before the Christmas and New Year holidays, and the Government's view of the current situation in Sweden.

The Royal Family and the COVID-19 pandemic

The Royal Family are keen to show their support for the initiatives being carried out by society to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Royal Family are staying informed about how the pandemic is affecting Sweden via discussions, digital meetings and visits.

These visits are planned based on current recommendations, and every effort is being made not to take up time and resources unnecessarily.
