On Saturday 7 December, The King, The Queen, The Crown Princess and Princess Estelle attended the Royal Swedish Opera.

The King and Queen, The Crown Princess and Princess Estelle watched the Royal Swedish Ballet and the Royal Court Orchestra performing Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker from the royal box.

The staging of The Nutcracker that has been performed at the Royal Swedish Opera since 1995 is choreographed by Pär Isberg, and the action is set to Elsa Beskow's Peter and Lotta's Christmas.

Saturday's performance was the 304th performance.

The Royal Swedish Opera on Gustav Adolfs Torg in Stockholm was commissioned by King Oscar II and was completed in 1898. The site was previously home to King Gustav III's opera house, which was used between 1782 and 1891.
