On Sunday 30 September, The King presented the Grand Sixten Gemzéus Music Scholarship to opera singer Christina Nilsson during a ceremony in the Hall of State at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
The scholarship is worth SEK 500,000, making it Sweden's biggest national music scholarship.
Soprano Christina Nilsson has performed in several opera productions, including at the Royal Swedish Opera, where she played the lead role in Aida in spring 2018.
During the ceremony in the Hall of State at the Royal Palace of Stockholm, music was performed by the Stockholm Student Singers and the Treitler Quartet. The evening concluded with a performance by Christina Nilsson accompanied by pianist Magnus Svensson.
