On Friday 1 December, Prince Gabriel was christened at Drottningholm Palace Chapel.
Archbishop Emeritus Anders Wejryd officiated at the christening assisted by the Chaplain to The King, Bishop Johan Dalman and the Reverend Michael Bjerkhagen, Court Chaplain and Rector of the Royal Court Parish.
After the christening, 21-gun salutes were fired from Skeppsholmen and from HMS Kullen outside Drottningholm Palace.
Following the service, The King and Queen held a reception at Drottningholm Palace with lunch for the invited guests.
Prince Gabriel’s christening gift from the Riksdag and the Swedish Government was a collection of children’s books with Swedish folk tunes and songs, and a xylophone. Dalarna County Administrative Board presented two sites as a christening gift: a rest area in Säterdalen and a ski trail at Koppången.
