
On Tuesday 25 August, The Crown Princess presented the Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2015 to Perry Alagappan from the USA during a ceremony at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm.
Perry
was awarded the prize for a filter that removes heavy metals to purify drinking water.
The Stockholm Junior Water Prize brings together thousands of participants from more than 30 different countries, and is an open competition for young people aged between 15 and 20. The competition is a way of encouraging young people to come up with creative sustainable solutions for the environment.
The Crown Princess has been patron of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize since 1994. The prize is presented during World Water Week.
