On Tuesday 5 November, The King held an audience with Minister for Financial Markets Peter Norman at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
The minister informed The King about issues such as the housing market, households' borrowing and future trends.
According to the Constitution Act of 1974, the Prime Minister is responsible for ensuring that the Head of State is kept informed about matters concerning the nation. It is formally The King who convenes the cabinet briefing, but the decision is made in consultation with the Prime Minister. Three or four cabinet briefings are held every year. The King leads these briefings, in which The Crown Princess also participates.
In addition to cabinet briefings, The King also meets ministers for discussions on topical issues.
