On Wednesday 30 January, The King presented the Swedish Quality Award to Karlskoga General Hospital. The King presented the award, consisting of a diploma and a statuette, at a ceremony in the lecture room at Karlskoga General Hospital.
The hospital won the award for the following reason: "Working with determination to make improvements brings results! Karlskoga General Hospital is a shining example of this, and is the first hospital to receive the Swedish Quality Award. The hospital focuses on the customer, with personal management and extremely committed employees. This has resulted in highly effective healthcare and satisfied patients. Karlskoga General Hospital is a role model for Sweden."
In an interview on Karlskoga General Hospital's website, Hospital Director Lena Adolfsson said:
"I feel tremendously proud. This purposeful journey began fourteen years ago. We would never have achieved the level we have reached today without all our managers and employees being firmly on board."
The Swedish Quality Award has been awarded annually since 1992 by the Swedish Institute for Quality (SIQ). The aim of the award is to highlight good examples of quality development in Sweden.
