On Monday 27 May, The Crown Princess presented the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award — the ALMA prize — to the picture book artist Marisol "Isol" Misenta from Argentina.
The award ceremony began with a musical number performed by children and young people from El Sistema and musicians from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. The host for the evening was actress Annika Hallin. Mando Diao also appeared on stage, and sang three poems by Gustaf Fröding.
After giving a speech of thanks, the versatile Argentinean illustrator took the opportunity to perform an a cappella Kurt Weill tango.
