On Tuesday 17 December, The Crown Princess and Princess Estelle accepted Christmas trees from forestry programme students from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).
The students from the forestry programme at SLU in Umeå were Noah Stoltz, Louise Gyllenstierna, Patrik Isacsson, Per Östman, Joel Engelbrektsson and Minna Norrman The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences has presented Christmas trees to the Royal Palace of Stockholm since the late 1960s. This year, five Nordmann firs were presented. The Nordmann fir is commonly known as "the King's fir" in Sweden as a result of this tradition.
