State visit from Portugal begins

On Tuesday 1 October, Portugal's President Aníbal Cavaco Silva began a three-day long state visit to Sweden.
The Presidential couple arrived at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, where they were met by The Crown Princess Couple.
The Presidential couple travelled to the Royal Mews, where they were welcomed by The King and Queen. They then travelled by horse-drawn cortège, accompanied by escort troops and standard bearers from the Royal Life Guards, to the Royal Palace of Stockholm.

The cortège made its way to the Inner Courtyard via Norrmalmstorg, Kungsträdgårdsgatan, Gustav Adolfs Torg, Norrbro, Skeppsbron and Slottsbacken.

Gifts were then exchanged in the Grand Guest Apartment, after which the President met Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt at Rosenbad.
