On Monday 3 June, Prince Daniel attended a workshop and a meeting with researchers who have received the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation's major research grant, at Karolinska Institutet in Solna.

The Prince was welcomed by professors Göran K. Hansson and Ulf Eriksson, who received the grant in 2008 and 2012 respectively, together with President Professor Anders Hamsten, Secretary General of the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation Staffan Josephson and Chairman of the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation Mari Andersson.
Anders Hamsten gave an introduction, before handing over to professors Eriksson and Hansson, who presented their research.
The Prince also took part in a workshop, which was held at three interactive research stations manned by Professor Eriksson's research team.
