On Wednesday 26 September, The Queen presented certificates at the Mayflower Charity Foundation's certificate presentation ceremony at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
For the third year running, Kvinneby School in Linköping won the Mayflower fundraising campaign competition. Once again, the pupils from years 4 to 6 raised over 200,000 kronor and received their certificates from The Queen in person.
The Stockholm local association was named this year's Mayflower Association of the Year. The local association has worked with great commitment, far-sightedness and patience to generate significant growth in funds raised within the Stockholm region.
Optician chain Smarteyes was named Blossoming Company of the Year, having committed to donating free spectacles to all children up to the age of eight with sight problems.
During the ceremony, which was held in Queen Lovisa Ulrika's Dining Hall at the Royal Palace of Stockholm, four researchers presented some of the projects that receive funding from the Mayflower Charity Foundation.
The foundation was founded in 1907, and works to improve conditions for children in Sweden. The Queen is the foundation's highest patron.
