During the weekend of 23 to 25 November, around one thousand Scouts gathered for the meeting at Fryshuset in Stockholm. The King attended the event in his capacity as Honorary Chairman of the World Scout Foundation. Other attendees included Minister for Integration Erik Ullenhag and representatives from the international Scout movement. During the weekend, more than one thousand representatives from all Sweden's Scout groups made decisions on matters affecting the entire Scout movement at a unique forum for young people. All Sweden's Scout groups were invited to the meeting, and the participants took part in workshops, exhibitions and seminars in connection with the annual meeting.
The King opened the Democracy Jamboree by giving a speech. He said that he had accepted an invitation to act as Honorary Chairman of the Scouts' new organisation. The King said that he was delighted and honoured to be asked to continue in the role of Honorary Chairman of "the world's greatest youth movement".
Minister for Integration Erik Ullenhag also gave a speech, and thanked the Scouts for their work with children and young people.
