On Thursday 9 February, The King and Queen hosted an official dinner at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
Guests included representatives from the diplomatic corps, the Riksdag, the Government, counties and authorities, and Swedish science, culture, sport and business. In all there were around 150 guests, who were received and greeted by The King, The Queen, Prince Carl Philip and Prince Daniel in the Vita Havet Assembly Rooms. The dinner was held in Karl XI's Gallery.
The King escorted psychiatrist Ylwa Westerberg, wife of the Speaker, to the table. Minister Lena Ek was seated to his left. The Queen was escorted to the table by Speaker Per Westerberg, and Minister Jan Björklund was seated to her right. Prince Carl Philip escorted First Deputy Speaker Susanne Eberstein to the table. Psychiatrist Ylwa Westerberg was seated to his left. Prince Daniel escorted Minister Lena Ek to the table. Teacher Susanna Borg was seated to his left.
The first course was beef consommé with duck's liver ravioli from free-range ducks, and root vegetable compote. The guests were then served pink pepper fried sea bass with grilled scallops on a bed of globe artichoke, ragout of black beans and creamy mussel sauce. This was followed by roasted fillet of reindeer veal with juniper berry jus, citrus confit endives and potato purée with black Périgord truffle. The dinner concluded with blood orange mousse with a white chocolate coating, mandarin sorbet, and pink pepper and tea crémeux.
