On Thursday 18 October, Prince Daniel, Minister for Health and Social Affairs Göran Hägglund and Director General of the National Institute of Public Health Sarah Wamala visited Lindeparken Upper Secondary Special School in Enskede Gård.
During their visit, they found out about the school's health project and met some of the school's pupils.
The school launched its "Healthier, Smarter, Happier" project in 2005 because many of its pupils were overweight as a result of poor eating habits and a lack of physical activity.
The aim was to create the right conditions for a healthier lifestyle, including through daily physical activity and the school's own balanced meal model. The project has been a success, and is now a permanent feature at the school. The school was the first in Sweden to receive a health diploma.
The visit took place on Meal Day during the "A Healthier Sweden" awareness week. "A Healthier Sweden" focuses on good eating habits and physical activity, and was arranged by the National Institute of Public Health External link, opens in new window. on behalf of the Government.
