On Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 September, Prince Daniel visited the Paralympic Games in London.
On Monday, The Prince watched the table tennis, in which Anna-Carin Ahlquist won Sweden's first gold medal of the 2012 Paralympic Games and Emil Andersson won bronze. The Prince also watched a volleyball match between Germany and Great Britain, and swimming events in which Maja Reichard won gold in the 100 metre breaststroke, beating her own world record for this distance. In the evening, The Prince attended a dinner with the medal winners. On Tuesday, The Prince watched athletics, shooting and tennis. The King and Queen sent their congratulations to the gold medal winners by telegram.
