On Tuesday 21 August, Prince Carl Philip visited his duchy of Värmland and the town of Hagfors.
The visit was hosted by County Governor Eva Eriksson, and began at Uddeholm, a world-leading manufacturer of tool steel. The company's central warehouse is located in Hagfors, where it holds more than 10,000 tonnes of materials. The Prince saw the forging press used to shape the hot steel, which was opened by The King two years ago. The Prince then visited the Industry and Technology Programme at Älvstrand Upper Secondary School, where local industry is involved in the education provided at the school. The Prince met former automotive student Sebastian Eriksson, who is now one of Sweden's best junior rallycross racers. The day concluded with a visit to Wint Arena, where The Prince watched the home team Valsarna win and hold on to their position in the premier league.
