The Peacekeeper of the Year award was then presented to P4 Sergeant Henrik Blomberg for "openly and honestly speaking about his experiences and his mental symptoms after serving in Afghanistan in 2011. His bravery in being so open has been a great help to both soldiers and veterans, describing afflictions that many are unwilling or unable to speak about."
Veterans Day was established by the Government in 2010, and now has state ceremonial status with effect from this year.
