On Thursday 19 May, The Crown Princess Couple began their visit to Ockelbo.
The programme for the day was as follows:

Arrive at Gävle Central Station
The Crown Princess Couple were met by County Governor Barbro Holmberg and County Director Anna-Lena Österborg.
Depart by royal train carriage for Ockelbo
Onboard were County Governor Barbro Holmberg, the County Director, the Railway Museum's representative Robert Sjöö and the Swedish Transport Administration's Henrik Reuterdahl.
Arrive at Ockelbo Station
Chairman of the Municipal Executive Board Magnus Jonsson, Municipal Chief Executive Lars Sjödin and project manager Monica Järnkvist welcomed The Crown Princess Couple. The Culture School played music, after which the entire party walked to the town square, approximately 300 metres away.

Preschool children perform songs and music in the town square
Preschool Day is an annual event to publicise preschools and what they do. This year, Preschool Day was 19 May. In Ockelbo, all the preschools traditionally meet up in the town. The children then make their way together to the town square. Here, the children performed songs and music for The Crown Princess Couple.

Visit to Ockelbo Library
Unveiling of the permanent exhibition of the painting "Tillgivenheten" ("Devotion"), which includes materials relating to the painting and accounts of its production by artist Tony Warren. The visit was hosted by chief librarian Kerstin Olsson.

Visit to Bysjöstrand residential centre for the elderly
A number of the residents welcomed the visitors outside the centre, after which they were given a tour.
Bysjöstrand consists of 81 apartments, and the first tenants moved here in July 2009. The centre includes its own physiotherapy suite and even a small spa. The balconies and outside spaces were designed in association with Wij Gardens. In spring and summer 2010, a sensory garden was laid out by students from Wij Gardens' horticultural course.

Visit to Perslunda School
The Crown Princess Couple had lunch at Perslunda School together with the pupils' council. Lunch was self-service.
Perslunda School is continuing to focus on good school meals. Everything is made from scratch, including ketchup, mayonnaise and breadcrumbs. In autumn 2010, the Friends of School Food society named Perslunda as one of Sweden's 12 "star restaurants". Prince Daniel attended school here in years 7-9.

Visit to Berendsen Laundry in Ockelbo
The laundry is one of the municipality's biggest employers, with around 80 employees.
15:50 - 16:30
Visit to Atlas Copco Secoroc AB in Ockelbo
The company manufactures rock drills and stone tools.
Arrive at Gävle Castle
In the evening, County Governor Barbro Holmberg hosted a dinner at the County Governor's official residence in Gävle. All the people of Gävle were invited to an introductory event in front of the castle.
