The Prince then awarded medals to the participants in the children's games, in which young transplant recipients ran a 50 metre sprint. The Prince also had the opportunity to meet the winner of the Livsloppet race.
As part of the day's programme, The Prince was given a tour of an exhibition at Gothenburg City Library, which featured companies with innovations within the field of transplantation.
The afternoon began at Götaplatsen with a presentation of medals to the winners of the team events.
At 15:00 it was time for the start of the parade, marking the beginning of the opening ceremony for the World Transplant Games 2011. First, The Prince had the opportunity to meet participants from the competing nations at Götaplatsen. Participants from 54 different countries have come to Gothenburg to compete in the World Transplant Games.
