Friday 2 December began with a visit to Sweden's embassy in Pretoria, where the Prince met embassy staff and was given information about the organisation. Afterwards the Prince visited Ithemba Institute of Technology in Soweto. Ithemba Institute of Technology runs professional courses and is partly financed by Swedish aid money.
On Monday 5 December, the Prince visited Durban. The day began with a breakfast meeting with environment ambassador Anna Lindstedt in Durban.
Following this the Prince visited Volvo's assembly factory, where the Prince was also given information about Volvo's environmental work.
The day ended with a visit to the Swedish Trade Council's business event in the Swedish Pavilion at COP 17. The Prince opened the pavilion together with Minister for the Environment Lena Ek, and was then given a guided tour of the Swedish Pavilion and EU Pavilion. The Prince was also given the opportunity to talk to Swedish companies that are represented at COP 17
