King and Queen take part in anniversary gala for Jussi Björling

On Friday 2 September, The King and Queen took part in an anniversary gala at the Royal Opera to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jussi Björling.
On 2 February 2011 it was 100 years since the birth of the tenor Jussi Björling.
Jussi Björling made his début at the age of nineteen at the Royal Opera in Mozart's Don Juan.

During the tribute concert, performances were given by Katarina Dalayman, Lars Cleveman, Emma Vetter and Jonas Kauffman, together with the Royal Orchestra conducted by Stefan Solyom.
