The Crown Princess's birthday was celebrated on the island of Öland on Thursday 14 July.
About a hundred people gathered in the rain at the circus in front of Solliden Palace to congratulate The Crown Princess on her 34th birthday.

The Crown Princess listened as the crowd sang Happy Birthday and gave four cheers, which were led by The King according to tradition. The Queen and Prince Daniel also attended the celebrations at Solliden.

A gun salute External link. was fired from Skeppsholmen in Stockholm at midday.
In the evening, The King and Queen, The Crown Princess Couple, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine were driven from Solliden Palace to the festival at Borgholm's sports arena in a horse-drawn cortège.
The Crown Princess presented this year's Victoria Scholarship to hockey players Daniel and Henrik Sedin. Daniel and Henrik Sedin were awarded the scholarship because "they have each been recipients of the Art Ross Trophy, in 2010 and 2011, for the NHL player who is top of the league in scoring points, which is a unique achievement. Both won Olympic golds for Sweden in 2006. Their concern for children is reflected in their donation of 1.5 million dollars to BC Children's Hospital Project".
Musical entertainment was provided by Eric Saade, Andreas Johnson, Jessica Andersson, Carola, Peter Mattei and David Garrett.
A collection is underway via Radiohjälpen for Crown Princess Victoria's Fund for people with disabilities or chronic illnesses, to mark the birthday celebrations.
