Twice a year, the Court Parish comes together for an assembly evening in the Bernadotte Library, where they are greeted by The King and Queen and The Crown Princess.
This year is the 200th anniversary of when Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte came to Sweden. It is also 200 years since the birth of the world-famous Norwegian violinist and composer Ole Bull External link, opens in new window.. He had close contact with King Karl XIV Johan and the subsequent Bernadotte kings up until King Oscar II. Bull often gave concerts at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. He was one of the most famous musicians of his time, and travelled extensively. During the assembly evening, art historian and director Knut Hendriksen spoke about his ancestor Ole Bull. Hendriksen has written a biography about his relative, and now lives in Bull's home, Valestrand, near Bergen. Music by Bull was also played during the evening. The soloist was violinist Semmy Stahlhammer, leader of the Royal Opera Orchestra at the Stockholm Opera.
