King gives audiences in connection with Swedish EU presidency

On Wednesday 1 July, Sweden took over presidency of the EU from the Czech Republic. In connection with this, the King held an audience with President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso, followed by an audience with the EU commissioners and members of the Swedish government. The second audience concluded with the King and Queen, the EU commissioners and the members of the government gathering on the Logård Steps for a photo call.

In the evening, the King and Queen attended the inauguration ceremony for Sweden's presidency of the EU at Skansen.
To mark Sweden's presidency of the EU, the Crown Princess attended the seminar “Sustainable Cities - Green Dream or Reality?" at the Swedish embassy in London. The Crown Princess will also be attending a concert at the Guildhall featuring Swedish trombonist, conductor and composer Christer Lindberg, and the Nordic Chamber Orchestra. The concert has been arranged by the Swedish Embassy and the City of London Festival.
