The Crown Princess participated in two seminars following the opening. The first seminar was led by Doctor Alan Kirk, professor at Kennesaw State University ,USA.Doctor Kirk spoke about the importance of physical training for rehabilitation in the event of posttraumatic stress. The second seminar was held by Professor Gert-Peter Brüggemann, professor at the German Sport University in Köln. The seminar focused on the Pistorius case, a much publicised South African 400-metre runner who had both legs amputated below the knee, who wanted to take part in the Olympic Games in Beijing and not only in the Paralympics.
