Ladies and gentlemen,
Welcome to Rally Sweden and to Umeå!
Rally Sweden stands out as the only winter event in the World Rally Championship. Today, it is also a natural meeting place for the global rally community. Every year, thousands of visitors from all over the world gather here. Different languages are spoken and different flags are flown. Still, everyone shares the same excitement in the forests and along the snow-covered roads.
The interest in Rally Sweden continues to grow. We see it in rising ticket demand, and we feel it in the energy surrounding this event. But Rally Sweden is more than a gathering place for sport and spectators.
This year, through Rally against cancer, Rally Sweden joins forces with the Cancer Fund to support a cause that touches almost everyone in different ways. It is a reminder that a major sporting competition can also be a platform for responsibility, solidarity and hope.
So today, we celebrate an event where nations meet, where winter defines the challenge and where sport, community, and commitment come together.
To all drivers, teams, volunteers, partners, and fans: Thank you for being part of this meeting place. I hereby declare Rally Sweden officially open.
